BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified botulinum toxin type A protein that works by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles. In aesthetic treatments, it reduces the muscle movement that causes dynamic wrinkles such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet, helping soften existing lines and prevent deeper ones from forming.
In addition to cosmetic use, BOTOX® is also used at our clinic to address TMJ-related jaw tension, neck and trapezius muscle tightness, and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) by calming overactive muscles or sweat glands. Treatments are administered in precise, controlled doses by our trained medical providers.
Applications for BOTOX Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to temporarily relax specific facial and neck muscles that contribute to visible lines and tension. At our clinic, treatments are commonly performed in the following areas:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines (between the eyebrows)
- Crow’s feet
- Vertical neck bands
Treatment areas and dosing are customized based on individual anatomy, muscle strength, and aesthetic goals.
BOTOX Cosmetic Procedure and Results
BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered using a very fine needle and injected into specific muscles responsible for wrinkles or tension. The procedure is quick, does not require anesthesia, and is relatively painless. Just a quick pinch. Ice may be used for comfort if needed.
Most clients begin to notice results within a few days, with full results developing over 1–2 weeks. Results are temporary and typically last 3–4 months, though areas treated consistently may maintain results longer over time. All injections are performed by trained medical providers.
Side Effects of BOTOX Cosmetic
Side effects from BOTOX® Cosmetic are typically mild and temporary and are most commonly limited to the injection site. These may include:
- Mild pain or discomfort
- Tenderness or swelling
- Redness
- Minor bleeding
- Bruising
Most clients are able to resume normal daily activities immediately following treatment. Your provider will review aftercare instructions and discuss how to minimize side effects.
